Italian Classes for Kids
Online and in person options available
We believe in teaching Italian from an early age. Group classes, private instructions and tutoring are available for children all levels from 3 years old and up. Many options to choose from for group classes: 1-hour weekly, 1.5 hour weekly & 2 hours weekly.
You can choose what works best for you.
ISNJ has specific programs for bilingual children.
Remote and in-person options are available. In-person classes are held at our East Hanover office.
ISNJ offer classes for all ages and levels. Programs available for beginners, intermediate and bilingual children are:
-Cuccioli (3-5 years old, attending pre-school)
-Coccinelle (5-6 years old, attending kindergarten)
-Scoiattoli (6-8 years old, attending 1st and 2nd grade)
-Farfalle (8-10 years old, attending 3rd and 4th grade)
-Fringuelli (10-13 years old, attending 5th to 7th grade)

ISNJ has three levels of instructions, beginner, intermediate and bilingual.
Beginners and intermediate classes are open to everyone.
Bilingual classes are for those children who understand perfectly Italian and have at least one native Italian speaker in the household and for those children who have transferred to America from Italy and are looking to continue their Italian education. Please note that at the Italian School NJ we divide the students based on their age and skill levels. Placement in a different level and age group can be made by our staff based upon individual skill levels.
For our youth classes attention is given to 4 skills: listening and comprehension, ability to speak, read and write Italian (when applicable).
Italian School NJ has developed its own sequential curriculums following the requirements of the Common European Frameworks so that children will learn the language through the years through age appropriate activities. For a more details description of our courses, please click here.

ONLINE & IN-PERSON classes available .
In-person classes are held at our East Hanover location, 49 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ.
Due to Coronavirus pandemic limited number of youth classes will be available in-person ONLY in our East Hanover Office and the "soccer in Italian" program will be suspended for the 2020-2021 academic year. We hope to go back to Chatham Day School soon. Many other options will be available remotely.

CUCCIOLI (3 TO 5 YEARS OLD, PRE-K)
Your child will learn Italian with many fun age-appropriate activities: songs, stories, games, simple crafts, etc.. For remote option, minimal adult supervision needed. We will keep your child happily engaged. For a more details description of our courses, please click here.

Forming classes will start as soon as ISNJ will receive 3 registrations for a given time and day.

Tuition: $545, 24 classes, 12 weeks, each class 1 hour long.

Summer classes
Twice a week summer sessions. Learn and practice Italian with many fun age-appropriate activities. Younger children will be engaged through crafts, songs, stories, games, etc. School age children will also explore the Italian culture, geography, art and history.
ALL AGES - ALL LEVELS
Classes will be divided on age groups: 3-5, 6-8 & 9-11 years old
IN PERSON CLASSES - Classes will take place at the Madison Community House located on 25 Cook Avenue, Madison NJ.
Duration: 3 weeks, 6 classes (1.5 hour each)
Tuition: $225
Schedule: Monday and Wednesday(Forming - classes can start anytime once we receive a minimum of 4 registrations for the same time and day):
Group 1: 3-5 Years old - Mondays & Wednesdays 4:00-5:30pm
Group 2: 6-8 Years old - Mondays & Wednesdays 4:00-5:30pm
Group 3: 9-11 Years old - Mondays & Wednesdays 5:45-7:15pm
Group 4: 12-15 Years old - Mondays & Wednesdays 5:45-7:15pm
